Figured that since I'd introduced the Scotts and their background was an interesting example of how strange the Families can get I'd talk about them.

Story: After the Consorting
Pairing: F/m
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Kim comes from a background that is controlling of men at best, and abusive at worst. He identifies as male and was male assisgned at birth, but has always been uncomfortable with his own body and wishes to be at least partially female-bodied. If you're uncomfortable with the idea of transgender people or with a woman being in charge then I suggest you look elsewhere. There's also implications of near-slavery and financial coercion.
Word Count: Approx 12000 words
Summary: After signing their consorting contract Terese and Kim spend a night at a hotel to consummate it undisturbed. Terese discovers some unnerving information about Kim's background and assumptions.
Feedback: Welcome, but keep the criticism constructive

“If you'd prefer me not to undress you until after we've eaten I'm happy to go along with that. I don't want to make you uncomfortable; we're supposed to spend the rest of our lives together after all, so I don't need to force you into anything.” It would be stupid of her to do that to him; even if their contract didn't give him much power there was no reason to make him miserable, not when it would affect how he reacted to her in the future. She wanted to be able to relax at home, have her consort comfortable and relaxed around her, she wouldn't get that if he didn't trust her, if he was scared of her. )

I've written roughly 12000 words of the wedding night between a character who I'm sure is transgendered in some way and the woman who owns him in his viewpoint, and I'm still not sure if I should post it. The character in question was male assigned at birth, ids as male and likes the submissive role that his Family prescribes for men, but he isn't comfortable in his own body. He wants to have hormone treatments to grow breasts and surgery to have his penis and testicles removed - I'm not sure if he wants reconstructive surgery to give him female genitals, and neither is he. The woman's first reaction when she finds out a bit about his issues is to ask if he thinks he should have been born female, and her final conclusion is that he needs to have therapy until he can define what changes he needs to make to feel comfortable in his body.

So, what does this description make you think of?

He looked young, with his large dark eyes and round cheeks. His full lips were a soft red-brown barely lighter than his sable skin. He was slender, with a narrow waist and his hair made a soft cloud around his head.

I didn't think about transpeople in Erde (the world my original fiction's posted in) until recently, but since I have considered it now, I figured I should mention a bit about them.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to cross-post comments at my livejournal to facebook or twitter, still I'd rather you didn't do it.

Thank you.

“I’m sorry, but you don’t seem to play Family word games, so I couldn’t think of a way to be more polite without being too indirect. The way you dress for formal events could easily cause problems for Antoinette.” )

I've signed up for kink bingo, and the only fic I'm actually likely to write for it revolves around a rape roleplay scene. Only, it won't be revealed to be roleplay until after the scene, and the clues to the true nature of the sex scene are enough to let my character know that her lover's indulging her fantasy, but it doesn't come out in the writing, partly because her lover's a female shapeshifter, who takes a male form for the scene, but my readers won't know that until after the sex scene. So, I was thinking of giving the following warning:

Includes depiction of male on female rape (possibly graphic depiction YMMV on that) from the female viewpoint.

Does that seem misleading to you?

Why not?

Seen a few times on my f-list [edit] and figured it's a good way to work out extra background for my characters [end edit].

Name a character and I'll tell you three (or more) facts about them from my personal fanon.

But please name the fic you want that character from, and it might take a while for me to post my answers.

Note, I've altered the date because this is staying open for a while. If I just can't come up with three facts for a character I've been asked for then I'll tell you so.

I saw a meta post about women performing femininity in fiction, so I decided to write a little about how that applies to some of the women in my original fiction.

I didn't think too hard about race when I wrote Antoinette but I've been thinking on and off about what sort of implications there might be.

Of course I don't know if anyone else saw racial issues in that story. )

I don't know if this is naval gazing self-indulgence, or something else, but any comments will be screened initally. I'll unscreen them after I see them unless I find them offensive, or you ask me not to. I might misjudge whether something's offensive or not, and if I do then I apologise. I'm not making this post for people to assure me that there's nothing potentially offensive in the issues I recognised, and any comments about that will remain screened as well. I'm aware this policy will slow any discussion that might arise, but I'm not interested in hosting a fight, and if you want a more rapid discussion of any points that arise in the comments you always have the option of taking it to your own journal and leaving a link. I'll edit this post to include any links to further discussion.

Well, that was a let down. The guy who was supposed to interview me wasn't even in - apparently there'd been a miscommunication. He said book the interviews for Tuesday and Wednesday, HR made the appointments for Monday and Tuesday. So, I'm going to have to go in again at 2 in the afternoon on Wednesday.

Edit: On the plus side I got a phone call today setting up a second interview, for tomorrow.

I've been unemployed for nearly two years now, and I've got an interview on Monday. Wish me luck, and if you feel like givng me advice I could probably use it.
