I'm not sure what you mean by that. If you're referring to how he talks about treating Alex and Marius it's just that he's not really in a good mood, it showed, and they let it put them off. They shouldn't have, een if they did decide he was their leader. And I didn't mean for Cloud to come across as arrogant; confident yes, arrogant no.
And yeah, I'm deliberately restricting myself to hints for the most part, because that way my readers can come up with their own interpretations of the reasons behind Sephiroth's issues.
