There's two sub-classes of high nobility. First there's noble-born high nobility, who are born to one of the two classes of nobility with at least a minor response from the Planet. Then there's common-born high nobility who experience a major response from the Planet.
Why is this important for Aeris?
For two reasons, first her spouse is supposed to be one of her closest advisors and so she's expected to find one the Planet likes and secondly it's believed that by choosing a common-born high noble spouse she's more likely to have children (or at least one child) qualified to serve as a placeholder if the Planet doesn't choose her successor.
So far its not married, not a sadist, and not a parasite.
And fairly competent in his choice of profession. But no, there isn't that much choice because the pool of common-born high nobles is so small.
