Seen a few times on my f-list [edit] and figured it's a good way to work out extra background for my characters [end edit].

Name a character and I'll tell you three (or more) facts about them from my personal fanon.

But please name the fic you want that character from, and it might take a while for me to post my answers.

Note, I've altered the date because this is staying open for a while. If I just can't come up with three facts for a character I've been asked for then I'll tell you so.

Hey! :D

I got into your stories ages ago but then I got really into Saiyuki and kinda lost a bit of interest in this fandom...but I'm back again! I'm hoping to figure our where I left off in Responsive - I really love that fic!

And so, I'd be really interested to find out three facts about the Cloud in that fic, please.

Here you go.

1) Until Tifa's accident Cloud was only invited to join what the other children were doing when it was something they weren't supposed to be doing, and they wanted a scapegoat if they got caught. As a result he was seen as a troublemaker. But after the accident he was actively shunned, only his mother would even acknowledge his presence positively or for more than the moments it took to drive him away - usually violently, and other children were punished if they were caught around him.

2) Cloud spent so much extra time practising because he thought he needed it to keep up with the rest of his cadet class, and he believed that even with his extra training he wasn't good enough to be accepted into the filter units, and he was shocked that Sephiroth had decided to focus on him. So shocked that he protested to the teacher who broke the news to him, and that's when he learned he was already in the top third of the class.

2a) Cloud still attributes a lot of his ability to the fact that Sephiroth is his sponsor and the extra teaching that gives him access to. For instance he's convinced that without Sephiroth teaching him to use a materia unslotted he'd only perceive the standard spells.

3) Cloud doesn't understand what Sephiroth gets out of being so submissive. He'd fully expected that Sephiroth would be the one to take him, but he'd never wanted the sort of things Sephiroth asks for, even if he's willing to do whatever it take to make Sephiroth feel as good about their relationship as he does.
